Syd Speer has over 15 years clinical counseling and supervisory experience in private practice, non-profit, and  community mental health programs, including leading workshops outpatient therapy, specialized child and family mental health, school-based counseling, therapeutic camping, and therapeutic foster home programs. He is an experience facilitator supporting personal success and acceptance processes, relationship enrichment and realignment, treating depression and anxiety disorders in both children and adults, assisting individuals and families with adjustment issues related to separation and divorce, and coaching effective parenting.  Syd also has specialized clinical experience working with issues affecting men's health and well-being anger management; assisting oppositional, traumatized, or aggressive adolescents; ADHD; and treatment for behavioral and impulse disorders.

Syd is committed to making his services available to clients in every way possible. He offers a variety of options for dealing with the cost of counseling, including payment plans and some sliding-scale. Several major insurance plans cover his services, but some don’t. He is a Crescent PPO, United Behavioral Health, BCBS of NC, Tricare, Health Choice, and Medicaid Provider, and additional insurance companies are served as “out of network”. He will make every effort to assist with clients’ particular needs.
